Dr. Abdelqader Abusafieh

SVP Technology & Advanced Materials

Dr. Abusafieh is responsible for the advanced materials business segment and R&D strategy & initiatives for Strata. His role includes asset management of an aerospace materials joint venture as well as developing new opportunities for investments in the materials sector. His R&D role involves fostering collaboration programs with OEMs and academia to develop new technologies in support of Strata and other UAE Clusters businesses.

Dr. Abusafieh has over 25 years of industry experience in the aerospace and advanced materials fields, covering a range of aircraft and spacecraft programs and technologies. His prior US employment includes Composite Optics Inc., Alliant Techsystems (Currently part of RTX), and Cytec Engineered Materials (currently Solvay). He holds six patents and sits on several advisory & management boards. Dr. Abusafieh obtained his Ph.D. from Drexel University, his Masters from Villanova University, and his Bachelor’s from the University of Jordan. He has received several government and industry awards for his contributions to the aerospace industry.
